Help !

I'm in a right fix and olympus are hopeless !

I need two O rings for a pt015 to replace the ones my daughter used as elastic bands ! I'm leaving for a 6 month trip early October and the housing is useless without them

I live in the UK. My local Olympus dealer was told that this was a service item and the housing would have to be sent away to Europe and would take 6 weeks !!!

Customer Service says that there are no O rings in Europe - they were very nice but said that even as a service item they could not be found ! What !!!!

on ringing around various olympus sites I hear that they are classed as spare parts but there are no plans to import them to the UK !!!!! Even though the manual suggests changing them regually - grrrrr.

Olympus US on the other hand do sell them on their web site - $12ish each. - I need two. But the catch is that you need a US address. They won't ship to UK ! Double grrrrrr

So the help I need...
Can anyone in Europe find me two O rings
or
is there anyone in the US or Canada who is willing to help me by placing an order and shipping them on ? I know it's a lot to ask but I'm stuffed ! Obviously I'll send the cash over to you first etc etc.

I love the housing and the camera but Olympus - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER !

many thanks for any help !

cheers

If you're in that much of a bind, try standard size 251 orings in silicone or buna. You'll likely be able to have them delivered within a couple days to your house. Try a cameraless dry run first to make sure they're gonna do what you want them to do but size-wize they're virtually identical o-rings. They just wont be the pretty red color you'd want.

Ryan, do you sell them as one each or as a package deal? If so, what price do you have? I need spares for my camera housing !!

Blue,

Have you got a firm source of O-rings yet?

As you are UK based, try www.camerasunderwater.com, they stock all Olympus o-rings and original/compatible grease.

You will need to call them as they are not listed on the web-site (08700 660384).

I just ordered two PT-016 o-rings for £8.99 ea plus £1 postage.
