Congratulations, Lisa! You will have to tell me if the CDRom is something I should have ordered too.
TedJ -
the book is much more than the settings. It talks about Exposure, Color, Focus, Lenses, Flash, Closeup, etc. and explains WHY you need to know about these things, what you should know, and how the camera works to affect these issues. It fully explores all the special functions of the camera, and talks about things like the quality of light, perspective, portraits, mood, etc. What I like is how it relates those discussions back to the camera settings, and how you can achieve the results given in the examples.
To make it useful, it would be good to go through each chapter thoroughly, as if you were taking a class. I wish I had the time to play with the camera that much, I find that I hop and skip around the chapters depending on what I am interested in... I still have not read the whole book, but it is getting dog-eared
!
Cheers and Happy Easter to everyone!
