I just got one. It was purchased primarily as a do anything point and shoot for all purpose snaps. My current digi cam just cannot live in the real world where there is salt and water and heat and cold and moisture and sand and boats and kayaks and airplanes and while I do not intend to abuse this new toy I hope it is a bit more durable than the typical indoor point and shoot stuff.
I also bought the housing for it --maybe a mistake--who knows.
The camera is sleek and solid feeling, very small, I cannot see the stupid LCD in sunlight--why cannot they still have a optical view finder for these cameras?
I have Nikon F series SLRs with Nikkor lenses and all that, they are rugged work horses that have seen duty in extremes and never failed but I have not gotten any digi SLRs because I figure they will conk out the moment they get in a humid or cold environment.
I might add that while it is supposed to be water proof to 33 feet, I might not count on that but it iscertainly immersion proof and that is what killed my last digi, a wave washed over me. Bye--bye.
Real world, my next lap top--Durabook and as soon as they have a spash proof cell phone, I need that too.
