The school I teach at has 10 of these clever little Olymus mju 790 cameras - so I purchased a Oly PT041 housing so the new divers can try a hand at basic underwater photography - seems like a great point and shoot set up. Whilst I can easily get it to synch with an Inon d180 strobe, I can't figure a way to get it any control over shutter speed or exposure. The camera has three underwater 'modes' but these are useless whent emaed up with an external strobe. I can't find any way for the camera to act in a 'slave' mode. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

These cameras do not have manual controls so you can't control your shutter and aperture. You can experiment with other modes to see what works.

I think some of our members have similar, or the same, cameras and external strobes so hopefully they will pitch in with their ideas on how to get the strobe to work! Maybe do a search in the Oly area for Nemrod - he's used the SW series with an external strobe, I'm sure.
