I'm a new diver, everbody in the Pacific Northwest here dives with a Zeagle. A friend of mine has a Tech that has been in his attic for since 1997. It is in good shape, except for the single lower dump valve, it has pulled through the fabric. The fabric is frayed and the hole is bigger than the valve now.
1. Is the bladder Ok, sitting in the attic for all this time?
2. Can the hole be fied by a local taylor?
3. Should I start by taking it to my local dealer?
4. Any ballpark ideas on what I should pay for the BC?
Thanks from a Newb.

I can not comment on the BC without seeing it. In general being stored in a high heat area is not good for plastics and rubber material. I,d take it to a Local Zeagle dealer and have them look at it or at least someone who is familiar with with the BC and what might be wrong with it.

If it needs new parts find out what they will cost to replace before agreeing on a price, a new wing could be fairly expensive.

.....if it were me, I'd not be interested in a BC that has been baking in someone's attic for 12 years.........you can 'score' a good low-mileage used recent model Zeagle all day long on E-Bay for $ 200 - $ 300. Lots of things aren't worth the $ in parts/labor to refurbish...and the BC is life-support equipment. In the scheme of things, if you can't budget $ 200 - $ 300 for a reasonable BC scuba probably isn't the sport for you. Another thought, Scubatoys.com, for example, often lists good deals on 'demo' models and you can pick up a barely used BC for a big discount.

Thanks all, I think I will pass on this "deal". But I will keep Zeagle on the must have list.

Update, well he has decided to give me the Zeagle for free. So I'm going to send it into Zeagle and let them look it over for any repairs it might need. Does anyone know if this is a service that Zeagle offers?
Thanks.

...maybe try PM-ing the Scubaboard Zeagle rep 'Scott'....he can certainly tell you about what Zeagle can offer you on the inspection/servicing front.
