Hi guys

Last year I bought and old Sherwood 1st stage all metal body (cannot find any ref numbers) with a Scuba Po 2nd stages the person I bought it from assured me it had been serviced, I have done about 200 dives on it this year and found it amazing, now the problem I have is I have is I need to get it serviced so looking for a service center. I will be in the UK for about 6 months I love this regulator to bits and realy dont find the need to pay out loads of money for some plastic rubish that wont last the distance, please please could someone help me.

Yours Steve :D

Steve, if you post photos of the 2 stages I would bet someone can identify them. For what it's worth, most Sherwood first stages are pretty similar (except the new ones), they are simple but tough as nails and work almost forever if given a little care. Same goes for SP metal second stages.

I have most if not all Sherwood documentation and could probably identify it for you if you post some pictures of it. I am also a Sherwood certified technician. I own several oldies but goodies that I have rebuilt for my own use and I absolutely love working on them. If worse comes to worse and you can't find anyone to service it for you, I will graciously volunteer. The only difficulty there of course is getting it back and forth through the mail. If that is what you want to do, then PM me and I will give you shipping instructions. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thanks Guy for such a quick reply, here are the photos as req

Steve

Nothing remarkable about either of the stages. The Sherwood is their current dry-bleed model (can't tell if it is the Brut or Magnum) and the 2nd's are the regular Scubapro 190's.
You should have little difficulty getting the set serviced.

A couple of SW rebuild kits and several LP seats for the second stages and that combo will go for many many years. Parts should be very easy to find for both of them.

Thanks Guys I know they are simple regs but I work as an instructor so I needed somthing that can put up with the wear and tear of 30 plus dives a month

Whoa there guy - 30 dives a month? We used to do 30 dives a week on Sherwoods, albeit Bruts and Oasis regs. We stopped servicing them when Sherwood would not sell us parts. I cannot tell you not to service that which works just fine, but good luck in your endeavours.
Where in Thailand are you? I had a lot of fine times there.

Am currently in Koh Samui but heading back to the UK for awhile, would like to try to service this reg myself if I can find someone to sell me the kits

I saw the pictures and it looks like a 5000 series which, was the 1st included with either 5100 Brut, 5300 Magnum, 5700 Oasis or the 5900 Blizzard 2nd stage. The kit part number you need is 4000-15.
