Does anyone know why the otherwise white face of the old Scubapro 5000 psi metal spg's sometimes goes yellow? I even own a brand new/never wet one--I believe over 30 years old--and the face has gone yellow (or was it always yellow?). It seems that when this yellowing happens that the gauge loses some of its illumination.

Anyone know why this happens? Could it be lack of exposure to light over many years?
