Old diver with Old computer XTC-100

My XTC-100 is playing dead, bought a new battery at LDS and still no life. Tried a second battery from batteries plus. Still no luck.

When I installed either battery, the computer beeped once, screen would light up for a half second and then nothing.

Cleaned contacts with alcohol, even though it looks like new in the battery compartment.

Anyone know of a fix or is the unit toast.
