Hey AliKat,

Not sure how long the site has been back up, but I do know that RC is running it again. We ran into him the other day and he told us that he was getting it back together. He also said that when he leaves this time, he'll keep it up and do the maintenance from the states since he does a lot of the research on the net anyway. Either way, I agree it's good to have it back up.

I was stationed in Okinawa for about a year and was actually where I learned to dive. Great diving all around. I liked: (spelling will be wrong I'm sure, but it's how it sounds) Ona point, Mida point, and if you can get onto a Marine Base, there's a really cool island within swimming distance of the shore at Camp Schwab, one of the northern most bases on the island. A drysuit would be EXTREME overkill, my inst. dove in a shorty on all of our dives. A full wetsuit would keep you warm all week long. Beautiful diving, amazing coral, and some swim thru holes too.

AliKat,

You know Rich?! He taught me how to dive! What a great guy, I'd love to chat with him some time. He used to work for the military scuba shops on Oki, tsunami gear I think is what it was called. What a great time.

Rich has his own dive shop now out in town. You can reach him by e-mail via his WEB site.

All of my Kerama trips have been with him. I think I'm going to take his Southern Breezes trip this July. He does keep us entertained duing surface intervals. Do you know John Chandler?

I'm on the contact list for Southern Breezes and if I can work out my hols maybe I'll get to meet another Scuba Boarder.....

Till July
Jonathan

I'm not sure on John, its been quite awhile now, well maybe not all that long, but I have a terrible memory for names. I had Rich for all my certs thru rescue diver, so I can't forget him, but if I saw John and met him before I would recognize him-great memory for faces, if not names.:D

I wish I could afford to get out there sooner or later, my sister in law is going to be in Japan for about a year, maybe I can get my wife to agree to a trip out there, *to see her sister*

Thanks for the chat, I'll have to drop Rich an email at Fathoms.

-Mike
