I don't know what's going on with the viz here this year. Today's was some of the worst I've seen yet. It was less than 10 feet and that's when I could just barely start to make out a white plumose anemone. I couldn't see anything dark-coloured (like a lingcod) until it was about 6 feet away. I don't know if the vis was diver-caused or just the back-eddy in the bay. Good thing I was testing out a macro camera setup and not going for huge scenic shots.

It must be all that beautiful weather we having. At least the macro pictures look great.

cheers

just got out of the water at ogden the vis was 6-10 ft at best other than that saw 2 king crab and had a great dive. and the octo at 4.5.

After the 40-foot viz last week, I brought the wide-angle camera, but viz was down to 20 feet at the end of the breakwater. As you can see in some of the photos, there were lots of little white bits floating around. They're all self-portraits again. I guess underwater models aren't lining up for the hike out there.

Those tritons sure look busy! Nice shots.
