I see some people mention going to Ogasawara on this board, but no feedback on the diving. Geographically it looks like it could be killer. Anyone????

Ogasawara is remote and very nice. I was there last summer during a DIR-F course with Fisheye. There is a story and pics of the island on our website http://www.jue.jp/en/node/396

Thanks for the link! Looks awesome. When is the best time to go, with who, how much?? Liveaboards?

There are no liveaboards there. Return ferry is from 45,000 yen. Staying from 7,000 yen a night including dinner/breakfast. Diving 4,000-6,000/boat dive. The best for you is to search for a shop at Ogasawara and make arrangements. I have only been there with Fisheye - which I recommend.

excellent! Thanks again TJO! Any idea what time of year is good for what species/weather? I'll be back in Japan in a few weeks and, if it's a good time of year for Ogasawara, I'll head out there ASAP.
