Hey gang thought I'd drop in and say hi real quick,,,
I'm a new Midwest Muck Diver. My scuba history began as a kid during one less-then-legal dive in the backyard pool to clean rust off the bottom.
Two decades later I'm back in the water, gearing up for a Grande Gringo trip to Mexico that will have some scuba dives in it.

I finished up my confined dives today, doing the drysuit training tomorrow, and open dives this coming weekend. Started out with the usual mask/fins stuff, a junior camera rig and a decent watch, now I'm looking at a full wetsuit, BCD, and computer. Promised myself I wasn't going to spend much money, that didn't take long, grrrr....

Money aside it's fun on a bun so far, looking forward to getting open cert and being able to practice what I need work on. I need to log some dive time post haste to get used to everything and taking pics underwater. Once the Mexico trip is done I might get started on the Rescue Diver cert, since it's stuff most people should know anyway and the first aid/first responder theme ties in with my survivalist studies.

Oh yeah, I'm doing all this with a PADI shop. They have some package deals on the gear which makes it somewhat less cost prohibitive, I'll see if the Search button has any more to say about it. Thanks for reading,
Jefm
