Came across this yesterday. It's always very risky getting the version 1.0 of anything electronic, but it's such an intruiging idea that I went ahead and contributed as an alpha tester for North America. So, I will get a .9 alpha before I even get the 1.0 . But, it seems very well researched and planned. I will keep SB posted and give some updates. The feature that really piqued my interest was the fact that it records depth and temperature and can overlay them onto the resulting video if desired. That's very cool! The automatic depth compensating white balance sounds like a great idea, but it will remain to be seen how effective something like that is. Not having to juggle multiple GoPro filters based on depth would be sweet. I like how compact and no-fuss it seems. On the other hand, doesn't look like the battery is user-replaceable, so that's a negative.

It's a risk, for sure. In early 2017, you may see my GoPro for sale on here. Or you may see 2 Octospot cameras for sale :)
