Octopus have been in the news currently. I saw where it was said that an octopus can squirt out ink in the form of its own body. It is done to fool a predator to thinking it is still around. But, infact the octopus has made an escape to safety.

Other said, they can make it look like there body is getting shaded from above light, therefore a would be predator may think an even bigger predator is hunting them and they leave.

Think I saw this on DW TV or NPR science stuff.
