Fortunately I've survived quite a number of deco dives with my VT3. It may even be slightly more on the conservative side than some of my buddies' computers, so I don't really get the point.

The VT3 can handle a second (deco) gas of eg 50% O2, and a third deco gas of up to 100% O2. Where but in deco diving would you need that?? I also survived these gases and settings with decos up to about 50 min.

Of course it can be used in deco diving.
I have quite a few friends that use their VT3 while doing deco dives, but they don't use it as a computer. They put it in gauge mode and use it as a fancy looking set of gauges. The VT3 has 3 modes; dive computer, gauges, and free dive. Are you saying you actually use the VT3 as a decompression dive computer? Meaning using it to calculate your stops, etc.?

Just to round this out seeing as I started the thread:

I decided against the VT3 in the end for many reasons including old technology, non user friendly button sequences and manual etc etc

I bought 2 of the UEMIS SDA dive computers for me and the wife as I believe these are the future and the display is unbelievable!! So easy to use you barely need the well written manual.

These are also on sale right now at www.diverightinscuba.com
