Hi, I used for the first time my new VEO 180 NX in a sea dive. Great.
In the settings there is no mention how to set for fresh water or sea water.
Is this required or not.
How about diving in a quarry with fresh water ?
In the user manual, for altitude diving, the PDC automatically changes to fresh water, but what about diving in a quarry not so high ?
Thanks.

They only switch to fresh water mode (depth calibration) based on 2000ft altitude. There are no used controlled settings.

Thus your depth reading will be off 2.5% for fresh water below 2000ft. It is not really an issue since the computers NDL's limits are based on relative pressure difference and are not affected at all. You MOD (if on nitrox) is off slightly, but in the safer (deeper) direction.

In fact this is the same as with any analog deep meter based in the preasure mesured in the deep.
