I really and equally like the feel, and fit of the both so could someone help me with the comparison before I make my final purchase decision?

What I now know is:

  • Price is about the same (Based on where you go)
  • Oceanic definitely looks very cool
  • Outrigger has 57lbs of lift Ranger has 45,
  • Outrigger has 20lbs dumpable Ranger 36 (?)
  • Outrigger has an additional front float (the outrigger float) that is deployed for surface floatation
  • Ranger is highly (?) modular Outrigger isn’t
Please add other known vs. info.

Thanks.

Oh, almost forgot one more
- Both can dive with doubles (with modifications)

Will anyone care to justify their votes?

I went for the Ranger. Why? 1. The outrigger isn't needed. 1. I'm a Zeagle Stiletto customer and their service is excellent.

I would also recommend the Zeagle Ranger. It's awesome. Also, Zeagle's customer service wins hands down.

After diving various jacket and back inflate BCDs I decided to get a BP/W. I like the simplicity of the BP/W and I also like the fact that a BP/W is nearly limitless. I do not like being limited. I can do any type of diving with it (tech or rec). In warm water I need no additional weight. If I hadn't gone with the BP/W I would have gone the the Zeagle.

No comparison..Zeagle.

Modular design is a big one in my book. When you are diving singles that 57 bladder is probably going to kick your butt. Especially if you are new to a back loader. Not even sure what you be needed for doubles, it might be big for that.

If you dive doubles you will probably find out that you want a back plate...BP/W. If you go with Zeagle you can use the bladder if you go Oceanic, I think you are screwed.

All in all the Zeagle give you more flexibility.

Voted Ranger. Not sure why you would need a front float (the outrigger), looks like it would get in the way and adds a uneccessary failure point. 57#'s of lift is probably overkill for singles diving consequently 45# probably is too, but less is better. For doubles you'll probably go with a different rig with a BP, but if you go the Zeagle route you can use the wing. Ranger as you eluded to is modular so if you have flexibility such as if you gain or lose weight. Ranger has more attachment points (D-rings), if that's a plus for you. I dive/dove a Ranger and was happy with it, it has some drawbacks most notably weight and ease of packing, but it's probably equal to the Outrigger in that respect. If I was to do it all over again with a BC, I would stick with Zeagle, great customer service and warranty, but go with the Stilleto or Brigade for single tank diving.

Outrigger....have dove it alot and fell in love with it...like others are saying though, the front float in my opinion is not needed, but they offer another cumberbun with it so you dont have to use the float.....Its extremely comfortable in the water and on the surface, ................On the other hand, I have dove Zeagles and really liked them too, they are extremely durable, functional, and as you said modular(which is great depending on the diving your looking to get into)....try them on and see which one fits you the best....For my love though, check out the Oceanic excursion.......Thats the one I fell in love with.........similar to the outrigger, with no bulky pockets....D rings all the way(besides rollup pocket)

Heres some links for those that dont know the BCs in question.....
