I've been waiting more than six weeks for my OCI .My dealer contact person has been told by Oceanic factory reps that a lag in parts supply is the reason for the delay.

The good news is that oceanic is extending the free transmitter program for the oci.

As far as my wife's transmitter, it worked at the shop (surprise!). I bought an spg to keep in my dive bag just in case.

Haha! That is always the case. Just like a car does not leak the transmission fluid when you take it to the mechanic's but it will leave a trail on the freeway so any stranger can follow you home.

Hopefully the issue will get resolved during your next dive trip.

I just got mine in the mail today!!! BTW, this is my first DC. i am super excited to use it for the first time. i am taking my advanced open water in 3 weeks, so i will definately update you on how awesome this computer really is ASAP. that sucks to hear about your wifes OCI, do you think it had anything to do with it not working only at depth?

Congrats! It worked on the first dive and then wouldn't connect while on the boat or in the water for the second dive. If it happens again, I'll try to connect to her transmitter on my watch to see if it's a computer issue or a transmitter issue. I bought a backup SPG that's ready to go in case it does happen. One thing I think I forgot to mention, when you sign up for the free training course, it's actually the course for the OC1 not the OCi. The menu is a tiny bit different but not much. The only thing I can remember off the top of my head is that when setting Nitrox percentage, the OC1 says "Set F" while the OCi says "Set Gas". Good luck! I'm finishing my AOW and Nitrox this weekend.

Just got my yellow OCi a week ago. It comes with the face protector, transmitter and data cable. It looks cool and all seems to be working OK. But haven't dive with it yet. Can't wait:wink:. Here seen with Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawk and Casio Protrek PRW-5000T. OCi is larger, thicker and heavier, but still OK as daily watch.

Nice! Congrats! I've ordered mine in with yellow as well.

Let us know when you've had a chance to get it wet.

So after 4 tanks, I can say that I positively love this watch. The low profile and the functionality are great. Unlike my previous watch which was scratched up in a dive or two because of the girth, this was one is still flawless. The wife's watch also worked flawlessly our last two dives, so apparently it was a weird intermittent issue that hopefully won't happen again. The audible alarms are very easy to hear underwater and easy to configure while on land. Let me know if there is anything else you want me to report on, I'll be doing 7 tanks this weekend in the keys. :-D

Good hear, Jazzymusicman!

How's the built-in compass? Not that I am going to rely on it, but I wonder how well it functions.

Have you tried diving with the two different algorithms? How big of a difference in your bottom time do you see?

Is the light that flashes when the alarm goes off visible?

Tks for all the feedback mate! :)

Finally, I get it wet today! Unfortunately I only have 1 HP port on my 1st stage reg, sooo.. took a big leap, replaced the manual SPG with the transmitter, and voila.. it's working great!!! It connected all the time (in two dives), no issues at all.
I figure, if I have problems with it, I'll just pop up and replace it with the manual SPG since I practically dive in familiar territory, but it work flawlessly... I'm in love... ;-)
