FXD10 users, need your help here. This is regarding the mounting positon of FXD10 first stage and 2nd stage

1. should the HP ports be closer to the tank or the LP ports? The manual, which I think is out of date, says DOWN position, which mean LP port closer to the tank. But looking at the pre-installed primary 2nd stage, it seems like FXD10 is meant to be mounted with HP ports closer to the tank.

2. There are 2 LP ports on each side of the FXD10. Should the primary first stage mounted onto the foward (close to my head) port? And octo mounted onto the right side rearward LP ports? I asked because the primary 2nd stage is pre-install into the rearward port from Oceanic. Should I move it to the forward port?

Any help is appreciated.?

Yes, functionally its does not matter.

But for hose routing, the FDX-10 first stage was designed to have the HP ports facing down, or toward the cylinder. If you mount the first stage the other way the angle of the HP ports will stress the HP hose. When mounted down the angle will allow the HP hose to route nice along the back of your shoulder and under your arm.

As for your second stage hookup, I have my primary on the port closest to the back of my head and the octo on the rear port. This makes the hose routing a little nicer and if you to the reach behind the head regulator recovery its the first hose you grab most times.
