I'm getting in diving and need a computer. I really like the idea of the wireless wrist mounted AI computer but I'm on a budget. A divemaster friend of mine's selling his 10 year old Oceanic Datatrans for $300. Seems pretty good considering it hasn't been used for 10 years and other wireless systems start at $800.

Should I jump on it or am I missing something big here?

BTW, I'd still need a seperate analog compass, right? How would I mount it if I no longer have the traditional depth/pressure/compass cluster attached to the hose?
