No, we don't sell oceanic... they don't allow any internet sales - voids the lifetime parts warranty - so we don't sell them. If you're just after a little non balanced 1st stage reg - you can also do a Mares R2 Axis reg for $115.00

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this forum so here goes a virgin post...

I need all the advise I can get on which reg to choose:

1. Oceanic Alpha 7 (2nd Stage) with SP4 (1st Stage), or
2. Dacor Eagle (1st & 2nd Stage)

These being low-end models, u can probably guess that I'm only a recreational diver. I'd be diving in warm tropical waters most of the time and will be doing a fair bit of travelling.

Thanks in advance for all advise!

FYI, BTW, I'm offered the regs with these packages:

1. Oceanic, Alpha 7 octo, with Ocean Pro BCD, and Maxdepth 2-in-1 gauge
2. Dacor, Eagle octo, with Condor BCD, and Supreme Compactt gauge

It'll be great if u let me know what u think about the packages too!

Can't say I've used both..but I will say that my SP4 Alfa 7 is the best performing inexpensive regulator I've tried. The breath is natural and delivers wonderfully even at the limits of recreational diving. Don't be intimidated by any unbalanced first stage, it should make no difference until you are at or below 500 psi, even then the difference is slight, and at that pressure you should be darn close to the surface.

Look into it www.divernet.com, equipment, group tests, take a cheap breath.

Hi,

I had decided to go with DAcor for my Octo but I could not decide between the Viper or the Eagle. I have tried both at 60 feet and could not tell a difference. I finally let this review by Bright Water Labs (BTW) here in Houston sway my opinion to the Eagle. They were very impressed with both units but seemed to like the Eagle better. Feel free to read the review at www.scubadiscount.com. Be sure to steer toward the technical diving section. BTW, my primary/secondary setup is an Oceanic CDX5/DeltaIII with the 300 bar din adapter. These Oceanics are some outstanding breathers. I chose them over Zeagle based on price only. I made the jump from Aqualung Conshelfs to Oceanic because of jaw fatigue associated with the reg buoyancy problem.

Enjoy,

Toe
