Is anyone doing the beach dive at OceanFest on April 17th? If so how are you going to get your kit to the beach from the parking area. PM me if you'd like to somehow coordinate this effort.

KIT? It is not that kind of treasure hunt. It is obvious things right on the top of the sand and impossible to miss. It is more of a race than a treasure hunt.

I hesitated using the English word “kit” for all of your dive “gear” thinking that people wouldn’t know I mean “all of your dive gear”. Apparently, "kit" doesn’t work in South Florida. So how are you going to lug all of your dive gear from the parking area to the beach and back? I did this three years ago and it was a giant drag. Walking more than a mile with a dive bag (kit) and tank in May in the sweltering heat was no fun. So once again I ask, how is anyone going to do this and perhaps we could team up? Someone to guard gear at the gate while others go back to the parking area. I hope this clears up the question?

12:00 -1:00 Shore Dive Treasure Hunt on the beach

I have always wanted to do this, but every time I went to Oceanfest, there were white caps and rip tides as far as the eye could see. Maybe this year will be different. Regardless, I want to do this!

And here we have to do the Academics on an IDC this weekend. Aggghhhh!!!

Can't you *cough, COUGH* call in sick?? (bring the dive gear :) )

My rig for the local beach here. I like to dive the remains of a wreck that is about 1500 yards north of the parking lot. I have a Home Depot Wheelbarrel and put all my stuff in it and push it down the beach. I am looking to replace the current wheel with a ballon tire.. or simply replace the whole thing with a model that has the ballon tire on it.

This is one option. As a matter of fact I am sure that I will now bring it with me as I am staying at the Bahia Cabana and that is a bit of a walk.
