Ocean Isle on Thanksgiving

I was wondering if there might be a few good diving sites around Ocean Isle, NC? I will be there week of Thanksgiving and would love to do some diving. Do folks still dive during that time of year? What spots would you reccomend?

Your choices are to drive around 30min south the N Myrtle Beach (try Coastalscuba.com) or drive north ~1hr to Wilmington and try aquaticsafaris.com or capefeardivers.com. You'll just have to check around and see who is diving - it's late in the NC season (but still very good diving) so boats sometimes have trouble getting enough divers to run a trip. When they do run, they usually hit some of the offshore sites that are deeper and a little more advanced (warmer water there, on average) so you might want to talk with your charter operator about what to expect if you have not done much diving in the region.

My post assumes you are looking for charters. If not, and you have a capable boat, then I can point to some sites. There is really no decent shore diving anywhere in the area.
