PSD and Underwater CSI

There is the law of supply and demand when it comes to diving "in the area of science". There are volunteers, grad students, interns and scientists galore for almost every project. There is serious, jockeying for position, among the highly qualified when it comes to good diving projects. That is just for the unpaid positions.

Government agencies such as NOAA and EPA have scientists trained as divers but it is not a full time diving job, diving is a small part. Coastal states have Dept of Env Regulation Agencies that have personnel that dive. Universities with a diving program usually have a full time dive officer. There are jobs out there but it takes networking, luck and timing in addition to being qualified.

Nudie_branch:
sorry bu what's PSD and Underwater CSI?

and thanks for all posts !!

PSD = Public Service Diver. That would like fire or police dive teams.

CSI = Crime Scene Investigator. It's part of the PSD job (for the cops anyway)
