I am working on a study evaluating interactions of sea turtles and artificial structure. I have documented numerous unfortunate instances of turtles tangled in line on wrecks and reefs, but am trying to expand this effort to try and quantify or estimate the threat to sea turtle populations. So, if you have observed a sea turtle entangled on a dive in Florida and you are willing to share that information with me, please shoot me a PM with whatever specifics you can provide (e.g., location - reef or wreck name, size of turtle, species if possible, date/year, pics if you have them) or reply to the thread if you wish. I would also be interested in hearing of sites that turtle bones have been observed. Also, to be thorough, if you have observed an entangled sea turtle on natural reef habitat, that would be useful information as well.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Mike
