Q: How long have you been diving?
A: April was the 32nd anniversary of my C Card. NAUI. Prior to that a
few years with the Johnson Air Buoy.

Q: How deep you been?
A: 1000 FSW in a submersible, manned, tethered.
512 FSW pressed down in SAT.
Bounced around the recreational depth limit with tanks. Straight air.

Q: What’s your greatest accomplishment in diving?
A: Never been bent.

Q: Why do you dive?
A: My first love is the water. Boating, fishing and diving were logical
progressions.

Q: What types of diving have you done?
A: Sightseeing, wreck, photography, salvage/recovery and safety diver
for groups of new divers.

Q: What changes have you seen in 32 years of diving.
A: When I started you had tanks with a K valve and regulator, a horse
collar and you weighted yourself based on your planed depth. A
waterproof watch was a treat. Most of the regulators didn’t have
balanced first stages so you had to determine your tank pressure by how
hard it was to breath. There was also the reserve lever on the valve.
“For Safety”

The “Frog Dude” handle came from some stoner bystander at an accident site where a car had driven into a lake. I responded to recover the bodies. The stoner said “Hey, here comes the Frog Dude.” The name stuck.

Nice intro Frog Dude.

Welcome to SB from the chilly, orca infested waters of Puget Sound.

Sea ya!

Welcome Frog Dude

Nice to hear the Johnson Air Bouy mentioned. Had to send mine to the boneyard 15 years ago after I could no longer salvage/fabricate parts. Welcome!

Thank you for the warm reception.
Jerm, Don,
I will try to be useful as well as ornamental on this board.
Just ask.

Sandbar,
If you liked the Air Buoy you’ll love the brownie.
I’ve had mine for about 3 years. I adapted one of the Y connectors with a hose to fit the power inflator on my BC and plug the regulator in the other. Sweet setup for 1 to 2 ATA diving and safer with the BC. The power inflator is slower than off the second stage, roughly half the pressure, but your diving. What’s the hurry.
One gallon of gas and you can hunt bugs in the Keys all weekend. No lines for fills or tripping over tanks.

Frog Dude
Experience is a wonderful thing.
It allows you to recognize a mistake before you make it again.

Welcome to the Scuba Board Frog Dude! I look forward to hearing more of your stories...
