Oasis Divers has a Back-to-School Special running right now that's a steal.
PADI OW Class/Pool + Materials + Lake Pleasant Checkout Dives = $249
PADI OW Class/Pool + Materials + San Carlos, MX Checkout Dives = $479
What's not included: Personal Gear (Mask, Snorkel, Fins (Boots)), Gear Rental for checkout dives ($50 for the weekend for students), Transportation to Lake/San Carlos.
Lake Pleasant checkouts are 2 days of diving off of the Diver Down II. (Regularly $279 for checkout dives alone, $59/day for sport divers). Sat & Sun.
San Carlos, MX checkouts include 3 nights hotel at the Marina Terra and 2 days of boat diving off the El Duque. (Regularly $439 for trip alone (students), $399 for sport divers). Friday - Monday.
Must sign up for a class taking place in August-September. Checkout dives must be done in 2007 (2 trips a month to San Carlos through November*, 1 weekend a month on the Diver Down II)
Private Classes (Class/Pool) are also available at additional cost. Oasis can work around any schedule.
ScubaBoard Referral Credit: If you send a friend, family member, etc. in to get certified and at the time of signing up they say they were referred from ScubaBoard and give the staff your username, you'll be contacted by PM and receive a $10 in-store credit once you reply with some basic information or give 'em my username, I'll take the credit
* October trips have additional costs and restrictions since the (intended) destination is Tortuga with a limited load. These trips are also an extra day Thurs-Mon
