Depending where you look information varies G600 poppet and other Scuba pro regs seem to use/have used 01050363,which has been described as 2.5mm x 1mm AND 2.2mm x 1mm and could correspond to 5-101 or 607 depending on whom you believe. Did they change the spec?

To Braunbehrens:- Yes, I do clean to that standard, the detergent is required to remove the greases what ever sort they are animal, vegetable or mineral and the acid cleans off all the corrosion on the metallic parts. Plastic parts are ok on a 10 minute clean in an ultrasonic cleaner with Biox (my acid cleaner of choice).

I am aware that the likelyhood of a reg fire/explotion is low but I will not take the risk/litigation if you make that decision thats down to you...
The most dangerous place is a dirty / non oxygen cleaned pillar valve on a bottle being filled by sticking in 100% oxygen then topping up with air. The shock and temperature rise if the oxygen is pushed to a closed pillar valve is sufficient to raise the temperature to a high enough level to cause the lubrication,O-rings and plastic to burn at about 14 miles per second (Explode) and in turn melt and burn the brass with the oxygen being supplied by the nitrox already in the bottle HAY PRESTO a jet powered rocket torpedo no thanks not in my compressor house...

I only service regs and O2 clean for my friends Idon't want to loose any....

End of my second penneth..

I am putting together some O ring kits for myself and my dive buddies. Here is what I ordered and here is the cost. Prices in Canadian $.

Buna N
112 - $0.11 Qty 120
014 - $0.08 Qty 120
013 - $0.07 Qty 40
011 - $0.04 Qty 40
010 - $0.04 Qty 40
003 - $0.07 Qty 40

This pricing is based on 10 of each size, though I bought more

Total cost for the o rings is $31.60 cdn plus 7% tax and the 4.50 courier charge.

Tell me there is just a little bit of a mark up on O rings

Pretty shortly an O-ring Database will be available to you lot of mean sods, as you all seem to want EVERYTHING FREE and dished up on a plate...It will be upto you if you rely on it

Beware manufacturers or at least at group level swop technology as all the regulators become clones of one another so dont be surprised when you find one Metric O-ring in Aqualung and Apeks with the same part number along with a load of inch based rings...
If you dont know what you are doing let a trusted LDS look after your tackle, but complain LOUDLY when not done right (that is if you survive).

If you can get the full spares kits and you have the technical info
and if you have the skill and the wish to do it yourself, so be it..
If you can only get O-rings then for Chris**s sake get the correct ones....size and material. What about the bits you cant get?

If you choose a different material than the manufacturer then be sure that YOU have chosen well, your life could depend on it.

DO you know the difference between Nitrile (Buna N to you Yanks), Viton (trade mark for DuPont), Polyurethane and EPDM. what are their characteristics, hardness, resistance to set, resistance to wear, flow under pressure and time.
Can I use O-ring" A ", will it be Ok,will it last the year, is it Oxygen compatible, is it compatible with the lubricant, does it oxidise inside a year when used with Oxy-rich mixtures, is the goo that forms when it burns hydrofloric acid and eats flesh?

Stir up the pot and wait for a reaction...

Brian,

Everything for free? No. But a fair price for the hardware, yes. If you noticed all the O rings on my list are for items outside of a second stage.

This board provides the forum for like minded individuals to freely share information. Post a list of standard O ring sizes and their use or go some where else. I will not pay you anything other than a complement for your information.

Here is my contribution to the list of O rings that should be carried as spares:

214 - 3/4" tank neck
116 - 1/2" tank neck
112 - Din Regulator
014 - Standard Tank (Yoke)
013 - Large Port
011 - Low Pressure
010 - LP hose 2nd stage interface
003 - Pressure gauge.

since i'm not a rocket scientist, I shouldn't touch an o-ring, right?

Brian, once again, this board is for us to share info, not sell it. If you don't like that, then don't contribute and don't ask us for any info (scubapro schematics...). I also remember that you didn't even want to pay for the copies you wanted me to make for you so don't even talk about us "Yanks" wanting everything for free. If anyone is interested, I'll be glad to give you what scubapro and conshelf o-rings i've crossed over or been supplied and where I get them. For free.

Where in my last posting does it mention ANYTHING about exchange of money?????

I've contributed to peoples questions where I can and given my opinions on the matters at hand and will continue to do so....

Brian,

Do you remember this thread: Save A Dive O ring kit that you started?

This is a quote from your post:

snip
and how would you pay me,in English pounds, not for the O-rings but for the knowledge of which O-rings go in which reg...

The obtaining the kits, the measurement and building up of the database has taken me nearly 6 months and a fair lay-out of cash so don't ask, you can't have a copy...
snip

If you have changed your stance, that is wonderfull news. Post your data base on the board. Otherwise go else where.

Pez de Diablo once bubbled...
013 - Large Port
011 - Low Pressure
Does this translate to...

013 - 1/2" LP hose port
011 - 3/8" LP hose port

Trying to find out what size should go on the male end of a 1/2" LP hose.

Also, what size o-ring is meant for the HP hose port? Didn't see that on your list, and that's always a popular candidate for ruining a dive.

Hi all,

LP port 3/8"unf takes 2-011 (Mares/Dacor like tighter 610)
HP port 7/16"unf takes 2-012 (Mares/Dacor...................611)
LP port 1/2" unf takes 2-013

They are all static O-rings so the size is not super-critical, 70-90 hardness will do> I only use Viton so they cant get mixed up with
anything else....

Cheers from the other side of the pond.
