Doesn't seem like Nuvair is trying to fool anyone about what's inside since they give a full layout of the internal components on the product page and a video on how to change the sensor and battery.

I never said they were trying to fool anyone. Our entire commercial economy relies on people selling extremely expensive items made from extremely cheap components and everyone plays along. I just want people to understand that when you think an oxygen analyser is something special and worth paying a fairly large chunk of money for, the reality is that it is just a voltmeter with an adjustable reference for calibration. Nothing fancy is going on inside and even less with the sensor as these are made by one of only a handful companies and rebadged. What you are paying for is a fancy box to house it in. If you think it is a good use of money then that's your choice. Exactly the same result can be achived with $40 of parts and a cheap dry box or an even cheaper IP65 project box. People seem to think oxygen analysers are some sort of magic box made from cutting edge technology. They aren't, you are buying a really expensive case. The rest of it, the functional part, is peanuts and incredibly simple.
