Guys please stop ignoring bubbles and his off topic comments
yes guys, please stop ignoring 8u88les! gekodivebali wants you to give him your business and not discover that Amed diving is sooooo much better than LB.
suck it geko!

Water is still warm & the Molas are still quite shy at the moment : we spotted them a lot last week (almost everyday among the various local dive ops), including for cleaning @ Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh, Pura Ped, Buyuk & Sental. But we got only a few sightings from flying ones this week.

Mola² season is supposed to start around mid-July : water temp should start to drop soon, with more & more Molas around on a more regular basis.

But who knows :)
Zivva, thanks for the update on water temp.
Maybe I should decide where to stay/dive a week before my trip (second week of July). I will book a hotel in Amed or Tulamben also.

Nusa Lembongan for me any day of the week, more chance of bigger stuff and loads more coral.

However, if you like the critters then go to Amed but I don't.

Only back from Diving in Lembongan a couple of weeks ago. I use World Dive Lembongan. High safety, excellent guides and nice fast boats with all the right safety gear on them.

I never had an issue booking but in saying that I did book for the next day not then and there lets go now. Shouldn't be an issue though as they do have a small boat which I went out on with just the dive master. Just depends on if it is being used and a DM is available.

In respects on where is best or not Amed and Tulumben are really good. The variety of different dives in NL in my opinion makes it a lot better. Plus you have multiple options around tides currents etc so if one had bad vis or unsafe conditions you can go somewhere else. In Amed you are pretty much stuck.

Hi Zivva

I received a reply from Bali Diving that the mola mola cleaning have started... is it true?

I have gathered prices from all the professional DCs such as Bali Diving, World Diving, Two Fish & LDC ... the cheapest is LDC!

Depends what they mean by starting ...

We spot Mola² cleaning or just passing by from time to time year around here (I saw 3 of them cleaning together in December ...).

I would define the start of the season as a period of minimum 2 weeks where we see them cleaning on a regular basis. And by this definition, nop season has not started yet.

Hehe. I need to keep this one :)

Hello Dor1813 & Zivva,

You would certainly see these more often now. Official Mola mola season has yet to start, but more people got to see these magnificent creatures by the day.

Better be careful how you choose DC though. Not just once or twice I hear that some DC are behaving irresponsibly.
You can read about that here :
Bali Diving | Nusa Penida Dive Sites

There are even those who carve their initial on corals during dive. That is irresponsible behavior.

You can make it 3 as I can confirm some ops are quite irresponsible here ...
Good to see the Blue Season safety notice.
Would be great if every op were doing the same before bringing their guests to the circus.

Talking about irresponsible behavior, some have installed nice carvings in Crystal Bay recently ...
