Advokat, great to see that you appreciated the Valiant, although it is starting to corrode badly, especially around the bridge and superstructure.
If you are diving out of Terrigal, now's the time to visit Foggy's Shark Cave. I dived it on Sunday - flat calm and warm water, viz to 20m down to 25m then about 8m on the sand. There were two juvenile Grey Nurse sharks in residence, and about seven other adults but they were not in sight. Foggy's is 29 metres to the top of the reef and down another 7m to the cave - highly recommended.

Colbar, glad to hear you had a great dive @ foggys. It is truly a wonderful site.
I am looking forward to diving it in the next few weeks, especially when this rain stops as we are getting hammered on this end of the coast the last two days.

Advokat, diving Foggys Cave five miles out in rough seas and rain isnt safe to me. It is a deep dive and im a safety gal.
Almitywife I hear you on that. Dawn service will be a little wet but that's ok to me. I do think the diving is off but the bbq and two up @ the fire station should still be happening rain or shine.

The Federal Government has given the go ahead for the HMAS Adelaide to be sunk off the New South Wales central coast as a dive wreck.
The Adelaide will be sunk about 30 metres off the coast of Terrigal early next year.
The federal Member for Dobell, Ken Ticehurst, says the wreck will provide a great boost for tourism in the region.
"Because of the nearness of the central coast to Sydney we will attract lots of additional tourists," he said.
"Particularly diving on these artificial reefs is very popular and we would expect to see somewhere between 10 and 20,000 extra people come up to actually take availability of this."

Hi Zeeman et al, at current course and speed, warship Adelaide will decommission Nov/Dec this year, after which it will be stripped of reuseable equipment, and then prepared for sinking. Current intention is to sink it 3 kms off Avoca Beach onto a sandy bottom at 30m.
No "proper" wrecks within ten hours of Sydney?? One of the best is the Currarong which is inside Sydney Harbour. Unfortunately it lies in navigable waters (ferry runs) and is only legally divable as a night dive after the ferries stop running (2pm). There are plenty of options for wreck diving on the east coast, especially south of Sydney. As a general guide, get a copy of Jack Loney's book - Wrecks of the NSW Coast.
