--deep sigh--

Probably made my last dives of the "regular season" on Saturday. Weather and conditions at area lakes and quarries make it pretty unlikely that I'll be getting in them before next spring, and the chances of taking a more extensive trip to destinations such as Cozumel, etc are relatively nil (unless I want to have a run-in with a divorce lawyer). Therefore, that means Scuba Board is it! Keep talking, folks....I'm listening! It's one of the few ways I can scratch that scuba-itch until spring.

Now, if you will excuse me, I must go mourn the passing of the season. Maybe watching this year's video footage and looking at my albums will help. Maybe...

---sigh---

Any chance of tagging along on a LDS pool class just to "get wet"? Our LDS, in the winter, will rent a local college pool on occasion just for people to play around. It ain't Cozumel, but it's better than nothing...

or a club? we have our pool night this Wed and are doing buoyancy diamonds and trying tech gear - and there is always a drysuit ;) "gee dear, the dog picked it up with the paper this morning"

another way to get wet is we used to sponsor the U/W Xmas tree decorating at the local Y - they would have 2 trees for the kids to decorate; one in deep end and once in shallow end - we would sink the tree, provide safety support, and take pictures that we would give them to post - ancillary benefits is we picked up future divers from that

and then of course, there is the old fave of putting the slides and video of this year into order

wait a minute, this osunds like there is no "off season"!

There is no off season: Either you're diving or you're planning your next dive

I know exactly what you're talking about. I don't have the married issue, but the ol' check book says the same thing about traveling.:shakehead The waters up here are already getting down into the mid 60's & with cold front after cold front coming through, the temps will drop even more in the next week or 2. I'm a big coward when it comes to the cold & can't stand a thick wet suit. I'm looking into getting a dry suit, but haven't had much luck in catching up with my instructor. I've just joined the local YMCA & have thought about asking if they'd let me bring my gear from time to time & hang out in the deep end of the pool.

Am I missing something? The OP is in Texas.

Get the right gear and stay wet. No mourning required.
