? November - Roatan/Utila vs Curacao

Hello out there !

Two divers, a newbie diver and a non-diver-barely-swims friend are planning a trip south in late November. Our non-diver wants something fairly luxurious, while divers want great diving and snorkelling/diving off the beach.

I've heard amazing things about Roatan and want to go there, but there are some cheap deals going to Curacao too. What is diving like in Late November in Roatan ?

Any advice on which island to go to and where to stay would be greatly appreciated !

I really like both locations, but for November, I'd definitely choose Curacao and your non diver friend will like Curacao better too.

We all know our companion's needs better than others, however...

To others who may also be reading along... it really depends upon what the specific non-diver will enjoy. Curacao has all the amenities of any well established cruise ship destination port island. My mom even liked it back when!

Bonaire has a lot to offer, as well~ but not as much "shopping", if you will. If you want laid back and desolate beauty, Bonaire is it. As a terrestrial photographer I could keep very busy there for a whole week driving around and making photos! The restaurants are not as upscale as Curacao, but they make up for that by being eclectic and tribal. It is the Country Cousin of Curacao.

Travelling with non-divers is tough. There is only one recourse... convert them.

Indeed, I like your style ! So far I have converted "newbie diver" but "barely swims" - she is going to be tough !
