I would like to take this opportunity to thank the brave men and women who serve our countries. On this day of rememberance please join me and millions in a moment of silence to thank them.

Thanks Cobalt. As a vet, we like to thank all that have supported us in the past and ask that you continue to support the troops today.

Happy belated birthday to my Marine Corps (Nov 10, 1775-2004).

Just to add: my thanks to all who have served, are serving, and will serve, and my prayers for all who served and did not return.
Mike

Its days like today that I look back at my brief time in the early 90's, my dads time with the Big Red 1, my grandfathers 30 years with the USAF.. as well as all the others who have served.

Make sure to take a moment and thank a Vet for putting their life on the line so we can enjoy ours here at home. :)

The military of today isn't the military it was when I served (82 - 86), and certainly the pay isn't the same (an E-1's pay was $480.00 per month when I joined). Thank God these brave men and woman don't do it for money, but because they truly love their country (regardless of who's the CIC). Case in point, I have a buddy in Iraq now who's an attorney (meaning he could be at least an O-3), but is serving proudly at the grade of an E-5. Talk about pride and patriotism!!!

My sincere thanks to those before me who fought for the freedoms I enjoy, and for those who are fighting, and will fight, for the freedom my kids will enjoy.

Kudos to all!!!

NAVY from 84-94 today is my holiday.... yay for me.
And yay for all the other vets out there that put up with low pay long hours of bs. We may not have gotten rich but we helped protect our country for future generations. Kudos to all

Btw.... hence my nick... its the missile system i worked on while in the navy... mk57 Nato Seasparrow Surface Missile System. ;)

Thank you to all the Vets that have served in the military protecting our country, our freedoms, and the freedoms of others. Too often our Veteran's and the sacrifices that they make are overlooked. My Dad served in the Navy for 21 years. He served during Korea and Vietnam. He was proud to have been in the military. He died on Veteran's Day just four years ago. It is ironic that he died on this day, if he had to die there couldn't have been a more perfect day for him to go on. He is my hero. I am so proud to be an American and to be the daughter of a Military Veteran.

My family has had members in the military since there was a United States. We have paperwork showing one of my relatives back down the line fighting at Valley Forge, and the tradition continues today with my youngest brother being a 20 year Naval Officer. Because of these and people like them, we are so blessed today. I often hear people speaking of their right to vote, and it really ticks me off. I don't view voting as a right, but a duty. I don't care what party you belong to, or who you vote for, but these people have fought and died so that we can do this, and I think it's our solemn duty to fulfill. Just my little rant :).
Thanks to all veterans, living or dead, and God bless you all. You are the reasons I sleep easy at night, and I will never forget.

I respect and honor all who have serve. Thank you. I realize they are only two little words, but what more can I say. Thank you. I (we) would not be where I am (we are) today if not for you.

Politics do not matter. Party does not matter. Nor does race, religion, sex, you name it.
Those that risked it all gave us the freedoms we enjoy now - even those freedoms that let us complain about it all.

THANK YOU !!!! With all my heart.

This week many Canadians wear the Red Poppy to honour the brave men & women who gave (and still give) their lives in defence of freedom.

And we Remember....

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lt. Col. John McCrae (1872-1918)
