I was surprised to read you use a G10, I thought you used a SLR !!!
Have you tried close-up lenses ?

I have no add-on lenses and don't want any. I had a macro and wide angle lens with my old Olympus C4000Z setup. I got tired of threading them on and off underwater. When I replaced the Oly I wanted a compact setup with no extra lenses. I did sacrifice some on the wide angle as the G10's 28mm is no match to a true WAL. As for the macro lens, I never really liked it as it had a narrow depth of field with little room for focus error.

No DSLR for me. Won't spend the money on it. I'm content with the G10 + strobe as an amateur photographer.
