I have nothing of value to say here, just want to get rid of that stupid message at the top of the screen :

" Hello HarleyDiver it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our over 200 forums. A few popular destinations include our Basic Scuba forums, our Off-Topic and our Scuba Clubs which now number over two dozen. "

It appears you are supposed to post something weekly, even if you have nothing to say. OK... :11:

Why don't you just post the identical greeting to several dozen new people in the introductions section to boost your post count like so many others do! Sorry, that is my own separate rant.

I have never had the message so I can't relate about how bad it is. There has to be something that you have been wondering about, and that would be a good thread subject!

Wristshot

I would love that message, but I post due to boredom at work. It keeps the fingers moving and the brain just above brain dead. I would love to not be bored at work and organized to do other work at work.

In nearly 2 1/2 years on this board, I've never seen that message at the top of my screen.

I second the motion! If you look, almost all my posts are 9-5 M-F. And someone just told me she was hoping I would apply for the position they had open, but that they just hired someone. (Wouldn't this be more useful to know while the position is still open :11: )

The "please come post" message is a relatively new feature that only kicks in after 1209600 seconds (14 days) of inactivity... if you feel this is too low I can up it to a higher number (say 31 days)?

maybe set it to 0 (disabled)? I don't see the point in having a message asking people to post.. then again if I saw such a message I would probably ignore it anyway.

I third the motion (can I do that??)! I'm sitting at work right now, plenty to do, just nothing I feel like doing. So instead, I'm wasting my cyber-life and daydreaming about diving anywhere, even the mud holes we call quarries around here...

How does this work?? Do you have a "Second Moderator"? Or maybe a Second Squad? Are we broken up alphabetically? I would like to know who my personal second counter is, just in case of emergency or something.

For those bored at work, this would be something for you. Volunteer for the Second Mod Squad :dazzler1:
