just an up date on my training we just finished the book work and took the written test. Passed :eyebrow: now we go to the pool for two session and then to Lake Denton. anyone ever been there? it's in central Florida has three sunk boats and lots of fresh water fish they say on week ends they get as many 100 diver and more? I have lived here 26 years and not heard of it. but I guess I will see the botom soon.

Me too! Just passed my written exam last night too, and will be doing 5 OW dives this weekend Puget Sound. Hopefully by Monday I will be joining the ranks of certified divers!

Only thing that has me concerned about this weekend is the whole dry suit deal. Last night in the pool, we got to try them out for the first time. Buoyancy was OK, but when I got out I realized I was soaked! And I don't mean a little wet, but like water sloushing all around inside the suit. Instructor said not to worry about it, he'll take a closer look at my fit and seals before our dives this weekend, but it's going to be a long weekend if I keep getting soaked all the time. :(

Good luck to both of you! You'll love your new addiction, er, hobby!

Good luck! I'm certified but taking my first plunge into Puget Sound tomorrow morning. If your suit leaks, no worries, you'll just be as cold as I am in my wetsuit :errrr:

Great to hear both of you. Take your time and do things slow and deliberate during your cert dives.

I've been certified only about a year and a half and already my wife have to keep me from going somewhere every weekend.

Don't know where Lake Denton is either and I've been to the Winter Haven area quite a few times for work.

Have a great time!

Couldn't have agreed with you more on that...Take your time, there is no time limit on your skills test. Have a safe and fun dive

I know exactly what you mean, I certified this time last year in a dry suit and
out of 6 dry suit dives the suit has leaked about 5 times.
It isnt bad in the water but when you get out take of the suit and your undersuit
is wet it can be quite cold.

Good news is I got certified this weekend!

Not so good was I got soaked on both dives on Saturday. Both dives, as soon as I started to descend I could feel the water start to work its way in my right wrist. By the end of both dives my right side was completly soaked. It was a bit chilly, but bearable. For Sunday's dives, I got a different dry suit, which kept me completely dry both dives! It was great.

Thanks,
Jason
