Don Janni:
Nice Find, Don. Thanks. That housing isn't strong enough for what I eventually want for that camera (it's only good to 130 feet and I intend to use it a fair bit deeper than that) but it will certainly do for a stop-gap.
Ordered. :)
Now find me some nice $150 strobes and you'll be my hero forever!

Yeah, I'm looking for those strobes myself.

This isn't underwater, but I just have to share...

From my garden :)

Man, that image is sharp, even when you zoom in! Which camera, a DSLR? I think I hear the undersea world of the Philippines calling you back to take some pictures!

edit: never mind I just found out its an 8080.

And here I thought you were just an old sea-goin dog like me! You do have a gift, or so it seems!!!

Rick Murchison:
Now how'd you figure that out? I'm still trying to rathole enough cash to house it...
Rick

I thought I remembered both you and Tom talking about having one. I'm always amazed by photo's from the 8080.

There's an Amaryllis in my parents yard, its bloomed for the past two years, but wasn't there before that(lived in the house for 12 years). Strange thing is, neither of my parents planted it!

8080 has a crazy nice lense and the in-camera processing makes for images sharper than most budget dSLRs paired with whatever budget kit lense :) Great PnSs, I wish they hadn't discontinued them... price range interfered w/Oly's dSLR pricing though.

Rick -

Very nice! Now I can feel bad about my above water photos too...

Great Shot!

Don Janni:
BTW: Get one of these and the camera/housing will have neutral bouyouncy. It helps anyway.

Housing is here... came with a neutral buoyancy weight. I've leak-checked it in the pool with soft weights and it passed. I've been playing with it above water with camera installed to get used to where the controls are and how they operate. I'll have it in the pool this week, in the springs this weekend (4/22-23) and in the Gulf the weekend after that, so... if I'm lucky I'll have something to share soon :)

Great! I only have 16 - 17 dives with mine. I switch back an forth from macro to standard WA a lot so that comes naturally. I'm still trying to get setting white balance down to a process less than 5 minutes. That's really all I change while under but if you've looked at any of my photos it's pretty obvious I'm a novice.

Post some pictures up here... If they're as good as that Amaryllis I might just get out of the picture business.

BTW: Ikelite or other wise, it's the "handle" itself that I think you'll like. You get the neutral bouyancy as a bonus.
