Not subscribe

Is there any way to not become subscribed automatically to every thread you reply on. It is not apparent to me. Sorry if this is duplicated, I could not find it in a search.

Not sure, but I think this is what you're looking for:
Look in User CP -> Edit Options. Under "Messaging & Notification", "Default Thread Subscription Mode" set to "no email notification".

Quick Links > Subscribed Threads > Check those you don't want to subscribe to > "Move to Folder" box lower right of thread list > Delete subscription > Go
