Hi there,
I work for a television production company in Tampa Fl, and we recently shot for an tour group that brings kids on educational field trips aroud the country.
They needed shots of kids snorkeling with dolphins, manatees, and over reefs.
We bought a camera and underwater housing (Sony VX2100 and Ikelite), I went down to my local dive shop and bought fins, mask, snorkel, and a wetsuit (all Aqualung) and jumped into the water.
My life has been changed.
I've grown up in Clearwater/St. Pete and was always at the beach. I've raced catamarans, and played on the beach all my life, but have never had an experience that was as much fun as those few days of swimming/shooting wildlife.
I've gone back to the dive shop where I bought my swimming gear and have signed up for open water certification.
I've finished all of the course-work, and have been all over the web looking for more information about scuba and underwater videography. This is by far the most comprehensive scuba site I've seen, and is the first online community I've ever joined.(This is actually the first time I've ever posted anything anywhere.) My confined water, and first open water dives are schedualed for mid-June.
Although I haven't had my first confined water dive yet, I'm already planning a dive trip to the keys in July.
I have a million questions abut diving, and have already found many of the answers here. I've even found answers to questions I didn't know I had.
I've posted a clip of the underwater video I took on my website (vistamax.net)
look under "portfolio" and then "underwater production"
I can't wait to get into the water.
