It's been so long since I've been in the water that I think I'm going to have to start all over again - hopefully next weekend (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let the wind have dropped for us!).

Gotta get wet soon....
 
Mask fit seems to continue to come up, and I concur in most respects. I too breathe out through my nose; call it reflex. My mask does not leak without a hood. However, with my dryhood on my drysuit, whenever I exhale through my nose, it builds up in the hood. As the dive progresses, the hood seems to break the mask seal and then it leaks.

Just a couple of cents worth.....
 
First put a hole in the top of your hood with a hot nail... A bubble vent, if you will.

Second, try the mask strap UNDER the hood. Thats where I wear mine.
