Hello all,

Hoping I could get some info on diving norther DR. Staying just a couple days and want to get wet but will be staying at the Wyndam in Cabarete. They have a PADI center but I find resorts sketchy. Will be surfing if the waves are up.

Thanx!:lotsalove:

Hi,
Go to Sosua, that is about 15 min drive from Cabarete, and dive with Northern Coast. I dove with them a lot when I lived there.
There are few dive ops in Cabarete but all of them go diving to Sosua Bay. There is no diving in Cabarete, the beach is too long and water to shallow, and also motor boats are not allowed in Cabarete bay. The diving in Sosua is pretty good IF there are no waves and IF there is good visibility. I don't know when you are going there, but last few weeks the weather wasn't too good for diving there. You might be surfing for two days :)
Have a good trip and next time come to the south side of the island for diving

I was diving in Samana (also on North side, but in a NE facing "bay") and I didn't think too much of the quality of the diving. I hear the South side is much better.
