Has anyone dove on the north side of the island? If so do you have suggestions for locations? I've heard tons of stories about the north side: An airplane wreck, a garbage dump, sharks etc...anyone know of any others

I've been wanting to try this for a while.

One spot where you can get into the water easily is Playa Kanoa. As long as the water is not too rough, it shouldn't be too difficult.

Another spot is a bit east from Playa Kanoa - there actually a cave there that starts on land and goes into the sea (the cave is supposedly only about 10/15 meters long). The trouble there is finding the entrance of the cave back when returning - if you can't find it, you have to swim a few hundred meters east to a beach if current permits, and if not, all the way west to Kanoa, which is far.

do you know of any spots where there are sharks????

We asked about sharks last week while we were there, everybody said they were very rare, almost nonexistant....North shore would be the only place to find them if there anywhere...

A few weeks ago a fisherman caught a hammerhead. It made the paper, because it almost never happens...

I did hear that you might see sharks on an early morning-dive from Playa Kalki. But I don't know anyone who actually has... Hmmm, now I've gotta try it...
