We dove off of Virginia Beach last August with Lynnhaven Dive Center http://www.ldcscuba.com/. It was our first dive after our open water. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. We ended up picking the roughest day of the week. The water was pretty choppy. The surface interval and set up time were pretty rough. We went out to the light tower which is about 12 miles out. This site , I believe, had a maximum depth of 40 feet which was good for us since we are limited to the shallower dives. We saw baracudda, a small octopus, etc. The water temperature was 76 degrees. The boat staff was nice and helpful. At the dive shop, though we almost had to beg them to rent us weights. They told us that they preferred that people purchase their own weights. Of course, that is not too practical when you are traveling. I am not sure whether we will dive with them again, if we do it will be on a much calmer day! At least if we do go again, my confidence level is higher and I will be able to take the time to look around down there. We love the Virginia Beach area but also spend a lot of time in South Carolina at Hilton Head Island. If you happen to be in the Hilton Head area check out Palmetto Dive Center http://www.ldcscuba.com/ in Beaufort . S.C.

Mrs Prages-

I don't mean to scare you off from having fun. Just to realize what you are getting into. Have fun!!

Remember, while diving is about knowing your limits and diving within them, you do occasionally have to dive outside of them in order to expand them.
