I have two Bare wetsuits made in Cambodia, but they’re a few years old.
 
I have used Xcel wetsuits for years with good luck. Since you are from California they should be easy to come by as they have a heavy presence here. Also wetsuits are consumable so don't get hung up on where they are made go for fit. Be careful of the super stretchy ones they may be easy to get on but will tear easy as well.
 
A minor point, but the term Kiwi refers to New Zealand. Sharkskin suits are from Australia.

I was trying to be subtle and somewhat diplomatic. Maybe that's the Canadian in me. :)

Well, they are American....just a bit north. North, Central and South Americans are all Americans too.
