I don't know that the single layer wings are all that susceptible to damage. Mine have held up for years without a problem. They have tons of dives on them. In fact, I probably use them more than my inner bladder/ outer shell wings. I do baby them a bit but their smaller overall profile is a huge plus... traveling and diving.

I have heard some bad reports about the relatively newer Pioneers but I've not heard anything negative about the Razors. I think a Razor would be the best option if someone were looking for this style of wing.
