I'm a Fish!
I recently found this text on the back of a can of Pringles. I know this isn't diving related, however I thought maybe someone might be able to identify the language and translate it. I've researched it on the internet a bit, and could not locate anything useful. Also, for those with good observation skills: yes, I know there is a phone number for questions and comments also displayed in the photograph. I hadn't called as I wanted other opinions also. Thanks.

It indicates that the product is kosher. The writing is hebrew the U inside the O followed by the D means that it is certified by an orthodox union. The D indicates that it is also dairy. Meaning that those who observe orthodox law cannot eat these with any type of meat at the same time. The actual hebrew writing indicates which vaad or council certified the manufacture of them.

I learned a great deal while managing a kosher butcher shop for 4 years.

Jim nailed it. Also if you look at most foods you purchase, if they are Kosher you will see a Kosher label usually towards the bottom of the front or back of the item. If it is Kosher for Passover that will usually be written in English as well. There are several different agencies that verify the food as kosher each with their own symbols, also there are different forms of Kosher foods such as dairy and non dairy.
