Scooter rentals from Kralen run about $30 US for a 24 hr period. We've rented them and scooted all around the island - check out the neighborhood, back roads and places most tourists never see (like the dump). Don't take them into the donkey sanctuary - we did that one year and I was laughing so hard from them chasing us I almost fell off!! Bring a backpack with water and sunscreen.
As mentioned the park is great, allow plenty of time, take plenty of water. The road is one way. We pack a lunch and snorkel gear.
Check out the windsurfing while having a snack - also great between dives if you are in the south end.
The cave snorkel is supposed to be great and rather strenuous.
We are leaving 3/13 and I'm already packing, can't wait!

Don't forget the flamingos! Several flamingo sanctuaries on the island and they don't require "off-roading" - maybe not enough for a day visit, but certainly worth stopping for photos at least.

I mentioned it on another thread, but:

- Donkey Sanctuary
- Lunch at the Windsurf Place
- Drive around the island and take pictures
- last trip we rented a 19ft power boat from Bonaire Boats located at the Plaza. We played out on the ocean for awhile then hooked up to a mooring over on Klein and snorkeled. It was by far one of my favorite non-diving activities. I'll definitely do it again next year!

Here are a few things not mentioned in the above threads:

Visit the Butterfly Farm
Go Horseback Riding
Try Landsailing
Mangrove Kayaking
Visit the Bonaire Museum
Go back in time at Magazina de Rei (King's Store house, on the east road to Rincon)
Drive around Rincon, stop for lunch at Rose Inn
Take a sunset cruise on the Chinese Junk, the Samur
Find some private out of the way beaches (I know of some on the East Coast, you can't get in the water, but amazing sandy beaches to relax and listen to the surf, they are close to windsurfing, so you can head over there for lunch!

We are styaing at Sand Dollar. For the morning arrival, we booked a room at Carribean Club so we would get a little rest and refresh. S=Our condo at Sand Dollar was booked the night before.
