Went to meet up with the Sandeaters at Malaga Cove this morning, brought the girlfriend and her kids. Good turnout (about 10 folks showed up), but the consensus was to pass on Malaga and head over to Marineland. I decided to stay at Malaga and do some boogie boarding instead. There were some decent surfing waves there (should have brought my board...DAMN !!!), and from the vantage point of the gazebo it looked pretty sandy and low-vis. Anyway, we ended up having an absolutely fantastic day, and Malaga Cove is now my new favorite beach in the LA area.

I'm new to diving, and the one thing I'm finding out real quick is this: divers are some of the nicest people you'll meet. We just need to find an easier way to trade names, phone numbers, and emails. Maybe I'll get some cards made up with my info on them.

By the way, I'm curious to find out how Marineland was today. Please, don't tell me it was great....

I dove Long Point (Old Marine Land) Palos Verde on Friday and Monday. Sorry to report if the conditions were the same there on Sunday you missed a great dive. Visibility of 10-15 or better in the shallows of 20 feet or less. Surf of 1-2 feet if that. A great dive.
