The most common way to lock a zoop novo is to dive with it in gauge mode. Spend a bit of time learning the mode switches so you can avoid that.
Our shop rental computers are always being set to gauge mode by free divers using them (or by mistake) so I've trained myself to always check they are in dive mode before handing one to a diver.
Suunto made a great interface for the Eon, unfortunately not so much for the zoop or zoop novo
